INTRIGUE AT THE AGO

Please note: This scavenger hunt is a work of historical fiction and not associated with the AGO. Any questions relating to the product, location, etc. should be directed to Urban Capers.

Over a hundred years ago Tom Thomson, Canadian outdoorsman and iconic artist, mysteriously disappeared into the mists of Algonquin Park. On the anniversary of his death, CBC Arts and Culture reporter Maggie Shankins takes a fresh look at the case.

She uncovers a startling story that suggests a connection between the powerful Boulton family who founded the AGO and the eclectic group of landscape painters who went on to form the Group of Seven.

Along the way, she encounters another, who is investigating a much older mystery: The long lost Da Vinci Trove, the artist’s fabled personal collection of art, sculpture, journals and inventions, the location of which went to the grave with him. He left behind clues, of course, but the code has never been cracked, the location never found.

Help Shankins sift through evidence separating fact from fiction to unravel age old mysteries that have haunted the art world for years.

Tickets are $65.00 + HST per person for everything your group will need to enjoy the hunt, including admission to the Art Gallery of Ontario.
